Black Friday

Hello lovelies!

I'm back in the city and I had a great weekend upstate for Thanksgiving.  I got to see some friends, hang out with my family, and relax a bit before returning to school.

On Friday I went to the Woodbury Commons.  It was extremely crowded and busy!  Many of my friends worked longgg shifts on Black Friday, so I went to visit them and check out the sales. Honestly, the sales weren't that great but I had fun anyway.
I didn't end up buying anything, but I took some cute pictures!

We had to park across the street and walk through this weird pathway and over a bridge!

On another note, I painted my nails last week. They were inspired by the Museum of Modern Art, but everyone tells me they look Christmas-y.
Now they're all stained pink from my hair dye!

What did you do this weekend?

Happy Thanksgiving !

Okay, so it's 12:37 a.m., which means that it's technically Friday, but..

Happy Thanksgiving!

[Americans!]
Today, I'm giving thanks for friends, family, and opportunity! ♥
I brought my college roommate to my hometown for a few days, and I got to see some of my friends for the first time since August!  I also got to see my brothers and my doggies! :]
I spent the day eating a lot of delicious food, hanging out with my family and watching That 70s Show with Mika and my friend Marc.
Tomorrow [technically today] I am going Black Friday shopping at the Woodbury Commons Outlets... wish. me. luck! It's going to be insane. I probably won't get much actual shopping done, but it will be fun to observe the insanity!

I hope everyone is having a great week.
Ti amo con tutta l'anima! <3

Things I Love

Hello lovelies! I hope everyone is having a fabulous week so far!
Right now I'm totally procrastinating taking a break and thinking about all the things I love this week!  Would you like to join me?

Here are some links and videos to get us started:

♥ THIS IS THE COOLEST THING EVER: an Austrian composer hacked a mechanical piano to recite text. WAY AWESOME.

Greg Kadel Photography is all so glamorous!

♥ And speaking of glamour, Glamour Kills Clothing just came out with their new winter line!

♥ Remember this? Rihanna's performance of "Disturbia" at the 2008 VMA's. It was awesome!

♥ Possibly the most ridiculous BEST song ever.  There is a combination Taco Bell and Pizza Hut about a block away from my building, and I smile every time I pass it.  I always think of this song!

This blog is like the virtual equivalent of a gossip packed sleepover in a coffee shop with your best friends.  It is written by the hilarious and lovely Aquarius Alexi Celine Wasser from Los Angeles, California. Go read it nownownow!

Other, non-internet-y things that I'm loving this week:

How I Met Your Mother. Definitely one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. I recently got really into it, watched nearly every existing episode online and I am now HOOKED. Neil Patrick Harris = THE MAN.
[But we all knew that.]

Anticipation! I'm going to see one of my favorite bands tomorrow: Hit the Lights !

To Write Love On Her Arms
If you don't know what this is, just go the the website and read it. They have done some awesome stuff and events on facebook like "Write LOVE On Your Arms Day" have really made it popular and helped to spread the word.

Love Eachother, Love Yourself!

Also, school, fun assignments, graphic design, typography, my friends, long conversations through facebook comments on a picture, Lady Gaga, looking forward to Thanksgiving break and seeing friends, Japanese grocery stores, animal ear headbands, bubble guns, talking to cute boys, talking about traveling, making silly videos, being really corny, and all of you!

Okay, it's your turn. Don't hold back, now.  Grab a friend or three, play your favorite song, and shout it to the sky!
What are you loving this week?!

Happy Friday the 13th!

Hello lovelies!  I hope that none of you have Paraskavedekatriaphobia

it is the fear of Friday the 13th, which is today!

I like Friday the 13th. In some cultures, it is a day that is considered good luck.
In others, it is considered a day that witches go out to have fun!

According to Wikipedia, the unrivaled source of all knowledge and truth, there is a lot of history and speculation surrounding this superstition.

In numerology, the number twelve is considered the number of completeness. Examples of this belief are the twelve months of the year, the twelve signs of the zodiac, and the twelve hours of the clock.  Therefore, the number thirteen is considered irregular.
There is also a superstition that having thirteen people dining together at a table will result in the death of one of the diners. [Remember in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire?!]

Friday is also considered an unlucky day in many cultures. Therefore, the two elements put together equal a very unlucky day in many people's eyes.

Now, I am not crediting or discrediting this superstition.  Personally, I like to use the day to have fun when everyone else is freaking out!
And you know me, I will take any excuse to dress up. ;]
So here is my Friday the 13th themed outfit for today:

Bad Romance

If you haven't seen this video yet, DO IT NOW.
It is amazing!

As you probably know, I love all things Lady Gaga. I think she is a true artist. Her performance is fabulously over-the-top but she still gives off a down-to-earth vibe of acceptance.

Her new video, Bad Romance, is great in so many ways that I'm not even going to write about it....just watch it.  [And check out the McQueen!]

What's inspiring you today?

How to Keep Your Look Hot When It Is So Damn Cold!

I love fall weather! It is my favorite season. Putting together outfits for fall is so much fun. There are so many more choices because you can layer, wear tights and boots, and wear amazing colors.

Sometimes when the weather is changing to winter, it just gets incredibly coldcoldcold. Many of my friends here at school are from other parts of the world, and many have never seen snow or experienced cold weather! I understand their plight: it can be difficult to express style when it is so cold, you don't even want to get out of bed!
In the city it also gets real windy, and in the morning I often feel tired, freezing and lazy! I often end up wearing jeans and my brother's sweaters every day. However, it is good to force myself to get up and put in some effort! Say it with me: effort! So let's drink some coffee, blast some tunes and liven up our looks!
So without further ado, here are some tips on how to stay warm while still looking hot. ;]

Layering! This is the number one thing you can do. Basics are the key to layering. Here are some items that are fabulous for layering:
♥ Long sleeve tops and sweaters.
Here's an example:

♥ tights and leggings! Wear them on their own, on top of eachother, under pants... you have tons of options.

♥ Outerwear!
♥ investing in some quality outerwear is very important for surviving the cold winter. Here are some important outerwear items for winter:
♥ scarves
scarvey things
scarvey things by nikkidee featuring Alexander McQueen accessories

♥ gloves. I often find that the hands, face and feet are the first parts of the body to get cold. Since they are the extremeties, it is important to keep these parts of the body warm. Don't worry! There are tons of cute ways to keep your hands warm.

That's all for now :]
How do you look cute while staying warm in the winter months?

What I Wore

Yayy!
Here's what I wore to my classes today:
♥ t-shirt with different colored hearts, from the kids section of a thrift store in brooklyn
♥ purple skirt from h&m
♥ black leggings
♥ cowboy boots from the costume loft of my high school's drama club. Shhh, don't tell anyone! I wore them when I was in the musical Footloose my junior year!

What are you wearing today?

What I Wore

My amazing, glamorous mother had her birthday yesterday!
We went out to dinner, and then to a club!
She's an absolute party queen and an inspiration to me.

Here's what I wore!

We had dinner at a fusion restaurant called Tao. They have the best sushi ever, and super cute dessert! I definitely recommend it.

After dinner, we went to Nikki Midtown.  It was so much fun! It had a bit of an older crowd, but the DJ was really good. :]

Did you do anything fun this weekend?

What I Wore: Halloween Edition!

For Halloween this year, my friends and I decided to go as characters from the circus.
I was a fortune teller!

Ringleader, Acrobat, Fortune Teller, and Trained Kitty!
We met this guy on the subway. He drew quite a lot of attention to himself!

We went to the parade and ended up behind it [!] walked around a bit and went to a crazy party!

I took video clips of some of our adventures. I'll post them separately after they are edited.

What did you dress up as for Halloween? And what did you do?
